In December 2025, the Saxon joint research project KoSiNuS (part 1) was successfully completed. Actually, KoSiNuS Part 2 was originally planned to continue seamlessly into 2026. Since the project is co-funded by the Free State of Saxony based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament, its continuation initially remained uncertain due to budget freezes, funding adjustments, and regulatory changes affecting Subproject 2.
The project will now officially resume on March 27, 2026. The consortium includes:
The project focuses on the development of core components and safety architectures for autonomous mobile working machines and systems. The goal is to secure key technologies such as environment and person detection, robust computation and image processing hardware, and modular autonomy control software in a way that ensures reliable performance even under outdoor conditions. In the long term, KoSiNuS aims to establish a regional network of suppliers supporting manufacturers of agricultural and construction machinery with innovative solutions and services for autonomous systems.
