Certified SIListra Safety Transformer 2.1 available

The SIListra Safety Transformer 2.1, which has once again been fully certified by TÜV Süd, follows seamlessly the SIListra Safety Transformer 2.0 and extends it in all areas. The certification of the SIListra Safety Transformer 2.1 makes it much easier to develop your safety application, because the safety manual of the SIListra Safety Transformer comprehensively defines its use case. Developers do not have to prove its safety themselves.

For the first time, applications that comply with the EN 50716:2024 safety standard up to SIL4 are supported. Of course, applications according to ISO 26262:2018 up to ASIL D, IEC 61508:2010 up to SIL 3, ISO 13849-1:2023 and IEC 62061:2021 are also possible. We also greatly improved the SIListra Safety Transformer's support for the programming languages C and C++.

Today, CODESYS GmbH from Kempten has released its new product CODESYS Virtual Safe Control SL. This virtual safety controller can run safety-critical applications up to SIL3 (according to IEC 61508) on standard x86 hardware, which are developed with the CODESYS development environment. For the development of its virtual controller, the CODESYS development team relies on the SIListra Safety Transformer.

SIListra Safety Transformer certified according to IEC 61508 by TÜV SÜD

The new SIListra Safety Transformer 2.0.0 is the tool's first certified solution for implementing safety control systems and applications on standard hardware. SIListra Systems has improved Coded Processing so that it can be used for applications with cycle times in the millisecond range and below, while also fulfilling the safety requirements of ISO 26262:2018 up to ASIL D, IEC 61508:2010 up to SIL 3, ISO 13849-1:2023 and IEC 62061:2021. The availability of the product certificate makes it much easier for developers to certify their safety application because the SIListra Safety Transformer Safety Manual comprehensively defines the use case, meaning that developers do not have to provide additional proof of safety themselves. In addition to the high-performance and safe coded processing implementation of SIListra Systems, the audit by TÜV SÜD included the specification of the SIListra Safety Transformer with safety analyses and its Safety Manual as well as the safe development process and the Functional Safety Management (FSM) of SIListra Systems.

We are pleased that our innovation competence and special software development have also been recognized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The tax research allowance (in German: Forschungszulage) supports our in-house R&D projects in the implementation of new ideas and the development of software prototypes. We are grateful for this opportunity, which further motivates the SIListra Systems team to try out unknown approaches to resource-saving, functional safety solutions and to take the associated risks. As a StartUp, emerging technology company, we welcome the introduction of tax incentives for research as of January 1st, 2020.

Exciting R&D cooperation project with the ISW at the University of Stuttgart from January 2023

Together with the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW) at the University of Stuttgart, we are pleased to start a new R&D cooperation project from January 2023. The aim of this project is to develop the basics of coded processing for complex safety systems with floating point arithmetic. The coded processing method will be extended by support for floating-point arithmetik. This is new territory worldwide and therefore a particularly demanding research task.

Successful conclusion of work on research project fast-cloud

Since 2016 SIListra Systems collaborated together with TU Dresden and O&O Software in the research project fast-cloud (see NEWS of 2019-01-21). fast-cloud is is part of the joint project fast. On 29.02.2020 the work in fast-cloud completed with great success. Particularly in the last months we worked on a joint demonstrator. We are looking forward to present our results and the work of the last months at the next Fast-Clustermeeting on May, 11.-12. in Dresden to the public.
